Biography

Tusar Pattnaik is an eminent figure in the realm of Sustainability and Plastic Waste Management, boasting an illustrious career spanning over 24 years dedicated to driving Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Sustainability initiatives within esteemed organizations across India. Currently serving as the National Head (EPR) Sustainability at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd, Tusar has played a pivotal role in spearheading critical initiatives within the FMCG industry. His responsibilities encompass a wide array of domains including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) implementation, corporate environmental management, sustainability strategies, safety administration, risk assessment, and ensuring stringent compliance with regulations.

Tusar’s professional journey is adorned with significant associations with renowned companies such as Dabur India Limited, Indian Acrylics, ISGEC, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Nestle India, Punj Lloyd Ltd, and Bhartia Electric Limited. Notably, his leadership at Dabur India propelled the organization to be recognized as a Plastic-positive FMCG entity in 2022-23, a remarkable testament to his expertise and unwavering commitment.

Beyond his corporate endeavours, Tusar actively engages with multiple Plastic associations and holds esteemed corporate memberships with institutions like FICCI and CII. He also contributes his expertise as an environmental committee member of CII, further solidifying his influence within the sustainability landscape.

In addition to his professional achievements, Tusar is deeply passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly focused on PET recycling and community development activities. He is actively involved in providing training on road safety and home safety to village youth and women, reflecting his dedication to holistic community welfare.

Tusar is adept at handling various facets of EHS management, including EPR implementation, corporate sustainability, safety protocols, risk assessment, and legal compliance. Throughout his career, Tusar has been the recipient of numerous accolades and awards, including the Safety Award in International Projects (Turkey) in 2004 and the CEO Excellence Award from Dabur India Limited in September 2021. His department under his supervision at Hindustan Coca-Cola received the Best Service Department Award in 2013, and in June 2019, he was honored with the Safety, Energy, Environment Platinum Award for Hindustan Coca-Cola at both the national and global levels. Additionally, he has received recognition for his contributions to Plastic Management and Sustainability from esteemed organizations such as CII, Apex India, The Policy Times India, and Business World.

Tusar is highly educated, holding a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering, an MBA in HR, and a Post Diploma in Industrial Safety from the State Council in Odisha. He is NEBOSH certified and a certified Food Safety Professional from IIT Kharagpur. Additionally, he holds Lead Auditor certifications for OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, further demonstrating his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of occupational health and environmental management.

In the year 2021-22, Tusar received numerous awards for his outstanding contributions to Plastic Waste Management and Sustainability from prestigious organizations such as CII, Business World, MSME Global Conference, The Policy Times, APEX, Fame, and Grow Care.
